Sara Jaquay, N.P.

Sara Jaquay received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and her Master of Science in Nursing from The University of Texas at Arlington. She is board certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. Sara is also recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing as an Advanced Practice Nurse. She specializes in adolescent, adult and geriatric psychiatry.

Sara began her nursing career at the age of 17 and worked in the long term care environment caring for patients with Alzheimer’s disease. After a couple of years she was promoted to Assistant Director of Nursing and then Director of Nursing where she was responsible for managing and overseeing all areas within the nursing department. Her primary focus was on promoting patient-specific care with an emphasis on improving patient outcomes. She then moved on to work in the acute hospital setting where she specialized in trauma and orthopedic care. During this time she cared for patients with co-occurring psychiatric illnesses. She identified a need for providers with specialized training in diagnosing and treating psychiatric illnesses. Sara is passionate about delivering patient-specific care and working with her patients to improve symptoms and quality of life.

Outside of work, Sara enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter. She actively participates in her church and volunteers in the children’s and youth ministries. Sara also enjoys volunteering at local homeless shelters.
